Who Is Sarah Baartman? Every black woman should know her name

I was sitting in my room and Sarah Baartman popped up in my head. I guess coz I was on MediaTakeOut.com (yes I check them out every once in a while) and they are always posting pictures of women because of their asses. Being a Black woman, most of us not all, but most of us have been born with an ass, hips and lips and maybe even breast. These assets that women are buying in order to look like us when at one time in history the Black woman was put on display for people to come and look at. Our bodies was considered a "freak show". Now Black women are even getting implants on top of their already "big asses"
I was born with an ass, sometimes didn't want an ass now I personally think it is overrated especially when you meet someone because of it. I love myself and my body because it is unique to who I am.
I want my sistas to stay true to themselves and stop falling into trends because at the end of the day YOU are who everyone is trying to be like.

Booking is the new movement!

So fam decided since so many people started "planking" even after knowing the history of it, they are starting a movement called 'booking".  Reading a book is very rare now days so spread the work to PICK UP A BOOK!!!

Summer/Fall 2010 > Summer 2011

I wish I could re-live summer/fall 2010 over and over again, it was the best! Every weekend we hung out till 5 in the morning eating, sitting around the bonfire at the Pussy Rock Apartments (aka The Bonfire a place unknown to most). A place where knowing where the small opening in a long tarp covered fence gained you access.  Very secluded coz most people rode their bikes and parked them inside.  A place where liquor was being sold illegally after hours so everything was cheap. 

Even though this is how I spend most of my free time anyways because my babe is a musician, we just had some very great memories summer/fall 2010.

So here is an ode to hookah smoking, drinking $1 cups of beer straight out the keg and listening to live hip hop bands while sitting in front of a bonfire.
